Engine/Transmission (1998.5 - 2002) reduced fuel mileage

SHOP PROJECT 1999 2500 4x4 80,000 miles extended cab engine seems to have lost some power and the mileage has dropped off. truck starts easy idles fine and drives ok if any one has an idea what to check we would appreciate it.

Try having the injectors pop tested and work from there you may find that they are bad. Has there been much in the way of dirty fuel filter? It is winter fuel season?? Have you been idleing the truck longer? Dragging brake at all. parking brake sticking. If power is down vp-44 might be on its way south. Hope the cause will show it's self.

Can you check lift pump pressure also. this will cause a loss of about 45 hp.
