Where did the menu bars go

Has anyone else noticed that if you use the 'View New Posts' feature, go through all the new ones, then go back to the first page that is doesn't show any new posts since you ran the search?

I used to always go through all the pages, then go back to page one and pick up the new posts that came up since I started reading. But I've noticed lately that when I go back to the first page, it doesn't show any newer posts. Even if I click on Refresh, the first post is the same as when I originally ran the search. Now if I go back up and click on 'View New Posts' again, then I see the new posts since my last search as well as the ones shown in my previous search.

Is this something changed in vBulletin? Or just an IE setting on my machine?

You may want to read this thread I posted on 8/11/04 with the same name.

Refreshing "View new posts"

Instead of hitting refresh you need to hit "view new posts" again on the pulldown menu. It will then add the new posts that were added since.

If you wait over a half hour idle. You will lose the previous ones. I've been using "get last days posts" to see what I miss sometimes.

I use Get Last Days posts almost exclusively for that reason. Besides, since I am in/out of the pc many times a day (take a peek whenever I stop by a fire station) I don't always have time to review "the new ones" and then the forum thinks I am call caught up.

Last Days posts handles my needs very well.

Busted... . asking questions before searching again. ;)

Thanks Mactruck. I must have missed that post when it went around the first time.
