The refridgerator in my camper is an "Insta-matic". It works really well in electric mode - cools the refridgerator section down well below freezing - but in gas mode will only cool down to about 50 degrees, leaving the freezer around 32.

Since it works well in electric, I presume the coils and ammonia are ok.

Is there an adjustment on the flame other than the dial on the control panel? Of course it's set to the coldest setting.

Any suggestions are welcome.

Thanks,

Blake

If you haven't already done so, try posting your question at rv.net or irv2.com. If I remember right, both have forums for questions such as this.

Obviously I am of no help as I have yet to fight a problem like you describe. :)

Thanks for the help guys. Especially that link from Bill. I looked at the troubleshooting and took my orifice apart and found it partially blocked. Cleaned it all out and now have a flame 3x higher and it cooled down to 20° on gas in a few hours. Had to turn it down to keep it above freezing.

Thanks Bill for that link,

That site also helped me diagnose and repair a small but annoying problem I have been having for some time.

This site and the people on it are the best
