Need a Tow

Truck Rentals?

My refridgerator is not lighting properly. Only a trickle of propane seems to be getting by and just a flicker of flame is seen. When I remove the gas line there seems to be pressure but not past the control valve. Spiders webs ?? or just need a new part? thanks , jim

Based on the information you gave, it sounds like you need a new control valve. I'm sure someone here will have a better idea than me though.

Are you plugged in or running off of the battery? I saw a low battery cause this problem on a buddies RV last summer, it doesn't allow th econtrol to open or something to that effect. Good luck

Slightly off subject but I think useful,

I had a not lighting problem, gas but no spark from the sparker.

I soldered a wire to a hose clamp and put the hose clamp on the gas tube and the other end to the ground. Sparks every time. Gas tube was not a good ground for the sparker.

If mine has not been used for a while it gets air in the gas line. I have to continually keep switching to gas and trying to get it to light untill the air is bled from the line.

I have the stove top next to the refrig's.

I light a burner on the stove first. Sometimes takes a couple of minutes to get the gas from the tanks to the stove top (I use a striker lighter (the one's with the black long barrel and the butane in the handle)).

Once the stove top burner gets good and stable, THEN I turn the refrig's on. Seldomly takes more than the one start attempt of the refrig's. The distance from the stove gas T (where I KNOW I have good gas pressure and fully gas in the line (ie no air)) to the refrig gas T is about 5'. Takes about 2 - 3 seconds until a strong enough gas mixture (ie purges the air out of the refrig line) gets to the refrig's for the refrig burner to light.

Just an idea, your setup may be completely different.

I had a simular problem with very low flame height and then finally it would not lite at all. I used some carburetor cleaner to clean the burner and orfice and that took care of the problem.
