I'm getting right around 14. 3 mixed driving with my 2000# popup. I'm running 285 tires and have Smarty on #3. Smarty increased my mileage about 1-1. 5 mpg. after two tanks comparison. I was getting 12. 4 before Smarty. :{ I am driving very conservatively, keeping my speed@65 or less. In contrast a co-worker has never exceeded 11mpg. mixed with his '06 Ford P. S. Completely stock. He's not a happy camper. F. Y. I. I have 2600 miles on mine. After 8-10,000 miles,I hope it improves. I've got the tires inflated to 75psi.

You should start seeing improved mileage around 15,000 miles. At least my last 4 trucks seemd to improve around there.

That sounds low... mine has not dropped below 14 mpg...
In everyday driving mine gets 17 mpg... Mine has been relatively the same since new. Do you have 3. 73s or 4. 10s ?

My drive to work is almost all stop/go and I get 15. 5 on almost every tank. I just drove a whole tank of highway miles with cruise set on 73 and got 20. 2. These are all hand calculated numbers. This new truck gets about the same in town mileage as my 97, but gets a lot better on the highway.

Oh, and it now has 5500 miles on it.

I get an average of around 19mpg to and from work (about 40mi round trip). When pulling my 11,000lb 5th wheel I usually get around 11 to 12 mpg. These figures are all hand calculated. You cannot go by the overhead average. I also run Power Service in every fill up. It makes a difference.

Yes these are all hand calculated and I do have 3. 73 I was told all G56 have those gears Can any body suggest somthing for my milege problem.

For what it's worth, the first 3 tanks through my '07 have been 17. 5, 17. 0, and 17. 8 respectively, hand calculated. This is on my trip to work which is a combination 50/50 highway and side roads.

I have been low 16's to 14's. I just went from the stock tire to a 315/70/17 Toyo MT. I will report back on how my milaege goes. Now I am 70mph @ 2000 RPM's. It seems the truck is much less busy now and each gear lasts a tad longer.

It has taken me a while to get used to this 2100 RPM at 65 thing. It always feels like there should be another OD gear.

Numbers sound similar to my 06' at low odometer miles. I saw a bump in mileage at around 8k, 17k and now at 30k. Current is about 17. 5mpg empty/14towing 5500lbs (jeep & trailer).

your wallet must have money in it, but does your back hurt??? my 04. 5 3500 drw killed me with stock load rating and original tires inflated to 80 psi. I hardly ever had them rear tires on the ground everytime I hit a seam in the concrete freeways when unloaded.

i found out the odo on my 06 was 5% fast. checked agaist my gps. added 35's and its the perfect drive ratio but the heavy mudders ended up killing my milage. gave up on truck.

The truck needs to be worked HARD to get the milage increase. Didn't I read somewhere on TDR that Cummins says 10,000 miles of TOWING before they are broken in and something like 25-30k miles if used lightly. I know that my '06 Mega started out getting 13-14 mpg, I was pretty bummed too:{ I moved cross country which meant several big trailer loads where I scaled at over 24k each time. By about 30-35k miles the milage really started to come up. At 46k it was getting 20-21 mpg , mostly two lane mtn roads at 60-70 mph, some stop and go. Depending on my speed with the loaded 28' trailer I could get 12. 5 @70 and 11. 5 @75. The engine ran for hours making a steady 30 lbs of boost into the wind, it was awesome:p

On the same roads with a well broken in '06 QC LB G56 4x4, but driving it a little harder so I can listen to the straight pipe:-laf I have one tank down at 19. 1 mpg. Yours will get better, and then you too will be addicted to these powerful, huge trucks that get around 20 mpg, just like most of the rest of us.

I saw 8. 5 mpg with my '06 G56 when towing 6k lbs when new. Now the same speed/load gives about 14. 5 mpg with 34k on the truck. --Eric

Mileage

Mine has an AFE Upgrade and a Edge unit and gets 20. 2 around town and pulling a 22' car hauler, around 7,500# is gets between 14. 0 - 15. 0 MPG at 65-67 MPH, level 2 (tow) depending on the terrain. All drive train fluids are Amsoil and Rotella non-syn oil.
