Regen temp question

I have a 2015 ram 3500 I'm a hotshot and sleep in my truck. Since it was new if I let it idle more than about 2 hrs it would go into regen mode and overheat itself at idle. I get higher rpms and 230 to 240 temps at 230 I put my foot on the brake or put it in neutral take it out of regen cool it off turn off the truck so I can get some sleep. In the summer months this sucks. I absolutely leave the truck off. Why does it have to get this hot??? Can I do anything? The dealer said there were no options .

You could delete it but that carries some risk if you get inspected.
Beyond that you could put a high capacity aftermarket radiator fan on and run it during the idle time.

If it is going into a regen every two hours of idle time there is probably something wrong with the truck. A clean running late model truck has net zero idle, which means the soot load should stay the same or slightly reduce while idling. Some further diagnosis while it idles at the dealer is necessary to see what is going on.

idling with exhaust brake on or off? would think if it on, engine is working harder and so may create soot?

The brake should disengage at idle when the truck reaches operating temp.

Okay, thanks, don't typically let mine idle very long, so don't have experience with that on my rig.
