Flash on ECM

Guess I missed out on something. What is the flash on the ECM suppose to accomplish? I took ownership of my truck on 6-5-07. I don't seem to have any problems. Thanks, Jim.

I took delivery the end of April. I have had zero problems so far.

I have 3500 mles on now. About 1000 are towig 8,000 lb TT.

I am leaving next thursday for a 6,000 trip towing the TT.

Knock on wood I dont get the DPF 100% mesg. I did change the oil so its fresh for the trip even though Ive not seen that Msg either.

so far I love towing with this Rig.

Wish me luck!!

Well just ot set the record straight. I worked with DC and Cummins on the selection of the Dodge Ram 2500 vs the Dodge Sprinter for my work as a Courier travelling the province of Alberta regardless of weather on all paved roads. This can be a 7/24 operation depending on the customer demand. Yes there has been some Regen issues but the truck has performed without a hitch EVEN when the Catylst said 100% full return to dealer NOW. It DID NOT loose power or quit it kept going. If it had quit I would still be in the back country waiting for a two back to Edmonton. I have put on 15,000 Km on in 4 weeks, Yes I have the Software Upgrade 5535-0105-AT and I expect to have the next upgrade when I return to base in about one weeks time. My biggest down time has been oil changes. I have gone across country and will return with no expected issues other than the occasional Engine light, the EVIC system says System OK the Dealer says to continue to drive it. I have a history with the Service Manager and have no reason to doubt his integrity. The 6. 7 will have its share of issues but I believe DC and Cummins did their home work and we will all enjoy the ride. Remember the 6. 7 was designed for the ULSD from the ground up this is only fuel being sold in Alberta! as the refineries only make ONE type of diesel since June of 2006. ULSD will eat the pump seals of the pre ULSD engines as they are swollen with the LSD. So Tell me IF ULSD is all I can buy which is better an engine designed for it or an older engine which MAY work with it?

Well if something goes bad when you dont return the truck right away when is says "100% full service required" I bet they wouldnt honor your warranty... .

Why would you not buy a gas fueled vehicle if you live in such a restricted environment & cannot use the diesel as it is intended

Financially right now I can afford it. I have two years to go before I retire and move back down south. In this time frame I can pay off the truck and get a 5th wheel. Other then that I love diesel's and would not drive any other type of vehicle.
