My '08 Dodge is about to turn 100K and I'd like to buy an extended warranty policy. I've heard numerous times that there are many shaddy providers in this market that'l take your $$ and dissappoint you when needed.

Can anyone recommend a good reliable provider of extended warranty coverage for my (well maintained) 08 Dodge?

Thanks

I would not recommend a warranty at all but that's a personal decision. The only legitimate warranty to buy is one offered by the manufacturer. Many of the aftermarket warranty companies will promise you anything you'll believe but they file bk every few years and dump their policies.

Another thing you see with the independant extended warranties is lack of participation by dealers.

We have recently come to the point of making the customer with that type of insurance pay the bill, then he can fight with the insurance carrier for reimbursement.

There are a few that seem to have all ducks in a row but that is an exception, not the rule.

The good ones that we have worked with and have gained our trust pay us by credit card at the completion of the repair.

Just be prepared to pay the bill yourself at most shops, then apply for your money back, also stay in contact with the carrier at all times during the repair so that it can't be said "That is not covered" or "No authorization was granted for that part of the repair". .

You get the idea.

I think I would ask any for a list of references from local vendors so that you could call to see what the track record of any third party insurance is from the repair shop's point of view before signing up.

Mike. :)
