Do we have a group in NW Arkansas?

Did everyone move?

Well after looking for a new job for the last 9 months it looks like I will be relocating the family to the San Antonio area and I was hoping for some advice about good places to live in the north San Antonio area. I am also looking for a house with 4 to 6 bedrooms and on at least 3 acres of land in the 130K to 150K price range and will need to find a good realtor. Also any information on a local TDR Chapter would be great as well. ANY suggestions would be helpful since I have never relocated the family before and it is going to be a big job considering I have 4 kids ranging from ages 3 to 12  .

Thanks

Kyle

Welcome to central Texas. 3-5ac. and 4-6BR might be a problem in that price range. You'll just have to scout the area. :D

You will proably have to look on the south side of town, maybe on I-35 not the best place but definatly the cheapest. Also is a good investment because alot of people are moving south for the new Toyota plant they are building.

We have friends who just moved to the south side area, near Brooks City Base. They so far are happy with their choice of town. They have several friends who live on the city base who have had thefts and other incidents, so I guess it depends on how much you test the waters first and how active your neighbors are with neighborhood watch?...

A few empty shot gun shells and a blue paint outline at the foot of your driveway should get the point across. Might help to lower your property taxes on your street too while you live there. This is their biggest complaint so far, the taxes :(

We want to live North of San Antonio or other possibility is north eastern Texas, location will depend on where I find a teaching job. My sister is pushing for San Antonio area (which is where she lives). I do not want to go any farther south.

You should look at the NE side of San Antonio. The NW side will be price prohibitive as it includes Boerne and Helotes. You might find something straight N on 281 or just E of 281. Too far E and you get to Seguin and expensive areas again.

I agree with Caveman, I live just outside of San Antonio in Schertz. Has gotten very popular and things are moving toward New Braunfels. Schools are very well liked in Guadelupe county. 2 - 3 acreas in that price range will probably be very difficult. There are a lot of KB 2 story homes more in the price range you are looking at. Pulte also makes those track homes. But not that much yard. Good Luck

I was out there the 1st dec to the 6th and I really like the hill country north of San Antonio. Hopefully I can find a job in the area between San Antonio and Austin.

I am just changing professions after 20 years from a cash register/computer tech to teaching Social Studies grades 7 through 12. I went back to college 5 years ago and completed my Bachelors of Science at GVSU in Secondary Education Social Studies.

Excellent! Have you found a new job then? The lady across the street from us is a faculty member at the Hays County ISD, I'll ask her if she has an "in" that would benefit you in your job search!
