Where can I find a remanufactured 5. 9 w/auto transmission. Counting the cost to repower my suburban.

You can get the engine from Cummins, the transmission you would probably get from a wrecking yard. Cummins still sells 12V engines, a 215 HP 12V is what I would choose.

Cummins offers a recon 5. 9 for about $8650. 00, but good used engines are available. I know of a few shops that have engines out of wrecks with about 25,000 miles. The range is $1000. 00 to $4000. 00. If you are interested please email me and I will provide the information for you.

Nate- If you want an auto trans to go with the rebuilt eng. contact Bill Kondolay @Kondolay@home.com or http//www.dieseltrans,com. He can send you a complete rebuilt trans for your particular application.

I can't find it but someone posted a site that have new/used/reconditioned diesels for sale. The site listed Cat/Cummins/Detriot diesels and most appeared industrial or commerical use but there were a few RV applications and some marine.
Sorry I can't find the site mentioned.

Nate,
Check with the guys at Stebbin's Auto Salvage in Louisville(spelling?). I got the transmission I put in mine from them. Great people to work with and good pricing. They even thru in the shipping all the way up here to the Great White North.
