Absolutely praying for all affected. I was at band practice at church this morning and one of the young lady’s boyfriend lost three friends in the Bowling Green area.

When running my Byhalia, MS run......I generally run out of driving time near Bowling Green. I’ve spent many nights at the MicroTel Inn in Bowling Green. Limited information is coming in for Bowling Green, as most information has been focused around the Mayfield, KY area due to the intense loss of life there.

I'm thinking a lot of people were caught off guard. I have lots of family and friends that live smack dab in the middle of tornado alley, and they talk like tornado's aren't that big of a deal. Some even claim that they have never seen a tornado

They tell me that most of the time when the alert goes off, they simply roll over and go back to sleep. I wonder if this is what happened this time?

My sister lives in Kansas City, and she tells me it depends on how green the sky is whether she'll head for the basement.

One of the men I work with has a friend from Bowling Green. Their home was completely destroyed by the tornado while they were sheltering in the bathroom. Their 2-1/2 month old baby was sucked up by the tornado. She was found alive over 100 yards away. The entire family sustained injuries but the baby had severe head trauma and was put on life support due to brain swelling. They removed her from life support this morning and she passed away.

I read this story online earlier today. Can't even imagine the feelings of despair this family is going through. Just no words of comfort possible.

So how many of ya’ll have been through a tornado?

while traveling with my parents when I was 12, we got in the path of a smaller one in S Dakota. Hail beat the hail out of our vehicle but we were okay. I’ll never forget that sound

A few in Kansas when I was a wee lad. More recently (last few decades), well within a distant view in our RV travels to where we watched and were ready to disconnect and run somewhere else, but they were short term and petered out just in time. whew!

This was not in tornado Alley correct? Some, not all have safe rooms built into their homes? In tornado alley you hear on the news few injuries, no folks killed?
