I just had a "Valet" remote start system installed in my truck. Has anyone had any expierence with this type of system. I got it mainly to allow the truck to continue running once the key is removed to allow it to cool down. It is programmed to run for 12 minutes before shut down unless you use the remote to cancel the run. I would like to have it shut down after two or three minutes but the shop didn't have any idea how to cut it that short. Any suggestions?

dewdo,I also have a Valet, got mine for the keyless entry. You only have a choice between 12 or 24 minutes for a keyless run time. You'd have to be a an electronics wiz in order to change it,I'm sure the times are built in to an IC.

Really no way to change this. You could possibly, somehow, wire in a timer (ie diesel saver) before/after the "Valet" system to kill the truck with the time scheduled off the diesel timer and not the valet. Just a remote possibility, but otherwise your stuck with the 12/24.

I don't know a great deal about the modern day electronics but in the olden days I could put a R/C (resistor/capacitor in paralell and cut the time in half. Don't know if you can do it with the "Valet" system or not. Guess I will have to check it out. Thanks for the comback.
