remote fuel filter

I have searched the forums for this answer but cannot seem to find it.



Does anyone know of a remote fuel filter system other than FASS or similar expensive systems. I know they are good but I just want to move mine out to where I can actually replace the element without being a circus contortionist.

The FASS uses hydraulic filters--I would think you could get something together using the same concept. Maybe some place like Northern Tool has a remote hydraulic filter mount. I think the important part would be to design it around a filter type that is plentiful and available in micron ratings down into the single digits.

If you are just looking for a remote fuel filter similar to the PrimeLoc there is a company in CA, I believe, that make a remote fuel and antifreeze filters for the CTD. I think the name is Filter Engineering. If you do a search for Primeloc you will find it.

amsoil has a duel remote that works well. 8ft of hose. i have a 04 (6 speed ) no problems. be advised however that there is a special thread compound that is resistent to petro products and teflon tape may cause leaking. most napa dealers will carry thisl

I built a few mounts that use a 2 micron spinon filter. They are plumbed to be downstream of the OEM filter which I am told by Fleetguard is a 10 micron. Thought I had some pics floating around but I guess not. If I can't find any I will take some & post. If you have seen the magnumo grande filter used on the Nicktane system by the d-max it can use that one or one about the size of our oil filters.
