High perf. transmission ???

Sorry I heard MtV on in the background~izle :p

Anyways I wanna slap one on if for no other purpose to help me warm her up a bit faster as I am that much closer to a main road and to get there is somewhat downhill. So between the two ingredients right there the poor truck doesn't have a chance to warm itself (Never the less the trans) to 40* to make that all important O. D shift. So every morning I scream down the road clenching my teeth as traffic rears up behind my poor cold cummins :( . Which is force feeding that hx 40 thick , cold oil along with high R's at a cold temp. At least a warm motor at higher rpms is in my head alot better off.

Now being the PDR 40 is on there goes any hope for a turbo mount.

Us Gear? Who? :{ :{

U. S. Gear... is the one that I will put on next. I like the idea of not haveing to change the exhaust springs. Also the system is wastegated instead of holes in the baffle or springs to monitor the back pressure.

There is nothing wrong with the others brakes. . I think sometimes I have expensive taste... lol...

RHARVEY, Any idea as to pricing I couldn't find it on their pricing schedule. + with a remote am I going to have to worry about the harsh winter salt and grime we love to smear all over our roads up here ruining the unit? (Shouldah never butchered up the stainless steel exhaust)

muddymess, I love the fact that Pac is making one as the KNOWN quality of the unit from what I have seen and heard is exelent. Good info, I gotta look into it as well.

Any issues anyone has had with a remote mount?

I have a BD remote mount and like it. I went with a remote mount so when the day comes I need to have an HX40 or HX50/55 installed, I dont have to mess with this.

I have not seen the Pac remote mounts at all, no feedback.

The US gear ones are suppose to work nice, but use electric solenoids versus compressed air or vacuum to operate it. I have heard the electric solenoids dont like wet climates like here in the PNW. However I have no first hand experience. I know a few down south at use them and have good luck.

Since you have a 24v this will work for warmups. When activated at idle it will load down the engine. The ECM will compensate for this and allow it to idle ok. -- On my 12v when I activate it at idle it loads the engine down and will barely idle. Sounds harsh. Give it just enough throttle to have it idle and it clicks off. Unless someone has a idle trick they want to share with me it seems useless as a warmup device on a 12v.

Ditto on the BD 4" remote brake. Mine's been on since Jan. '01, love it. I use it every morning/evening for a quick warm up. As a side bonus, does a pretty good job ebraking as well ;) . You really appreciate the brake with a heavy load. Mines mostly a warm up tool though. Forgot what I paid, got it at AWD.

I think the USG unit is available with different activation options, including air.

Tim, run the engine in nuetral for about 30 seconds, then set the emergency brake and put it in drive. Leave it there for a minute or so. Between your TC load and the idle time it will warm up a little, and the trans will definately be warm enough to get into OD. Nothing slips or anything like that, so it won't hurt a thing. Just don't forget about it and go in for a coffee and a throne sitting or the trans could get hot. 3 minutes will get you heat out the vents unless it is really cold.

Might help hold you over until the exhuast brake gets there, and you are still gonna want to warm up the transmission when you get it.

LSMITH , That's what I do now but I would think that it isn't good for the pump and shaft seals to warm up that fast. Another + is that I can hit the remote start and not even venture outside :p :D
