Good evening TDR, recently finished up my 1999 DRW Compounded and cammed restoration and part of the build was pac-brakes remote oil filter kit due to the compounds. In the past on other builds (non cummins) I have built my own kits but I did not go this route for this truck unfortunately. I have about 500 miles on this build and that 200 miles or so have been towing around 10K which in a way has highlighted this issue. My hot oil pressure; after running about 70miles at 75ish MPH (so oil scolding) is around 15psi which I am ok with since I expected around a 5-10psi drop across the board. BUT at 1500 RPM's the pressure increases to 30psi and stays there regardless of RPM (pressure is better when oil temps are lower).

I highly doubt it is the pressure relieve valve in the oil filter housing, all that was new when I rebuilt it. But I believe the issue is in the filter housing itself since the fittings in and out step to 3/8ish. My question is for those who have had compounds and relocated the filter, what housings or kits did you guys run. I am currently looking at improved racings filter housings (they make them with -8am to -12an ports) since I have used all of their products on my race cars with great success, but to use their housings additional mods may need to be done. So, if there is product already floating around, please fill me in. This will be something I tackle next time I service this truck or in the spring since this thing is more of the garage queen/tow pig.
 
Take a look at the Amsoil BK300-AE. I just put it on my truck and am very pleased with it! Using it with 1/2" hydraulic hoses without having to step down. Something to think about. Good luck.
 
have you checked your oil pressure against a different gage
just to make sure you have a legitimate oil pressure problem and not a gage issue ?
 
I will take a look thank you sir, and yes, I have a ISSPRO gauge teed into the factory sender location. And I have the PID on my edge also. But when it was first ran I had a mechanical gauge on it as well and all read within a pound or two of each other.
