I was wondering if anyone knows of a good remote start? We just bought a Mega Cab and would like to put one on,but we don't know anything about them. We live east of Cincinnati and it gets cold here.

I have a Prestige Viper on my 01. Works great and from 300 yards or so too. I cant find them on the internet though, made by audivox but I bought mine at a local audio place. Paid a price for it but I know that is was done right and it works great

I am getting a Auto Start brand for my 05 the AS 2300. It is a two way unit, I would HIGHLY reccomend you get a two way unit with what ever brand you go with. That way you can tell if your $45K truck is running and the doors are locked, etc. Plus they have better range some up to 5000 feet.

I had a one way unit and was going to put it in, but changed my mind. Afterall I didn't cut corners on anything else I did, It was all expensive :D

Thank to TDR my wallet is alot lighter and my credit card is worn out :-laf

I agree with getting the 2 way remote starter. From what I was told when I bought the Automate for my 04. 5 that 99% of alarm/remote starters are made by the same company (I forget the name) and then stamped with different brands. Automate, Viper, I can't think of any more off the top of my head are all the same thing under a different name.

Another thing you get what you pay for. I got one of the $60 systems for a '93 Chevy I had in the past. It was constantly starting itself. It's one thing running out of gas, but if you leave your vehicle in a garage attached to your house this can be very dangerous. I've had no false starts with the Automate.
