I had my mind going on the way to work this morning. I was trying to come up with a way to integrate a turbo timer into my remote start system. I can use the remote start as a timer now, but it runs for 12 min.

I started searching the web this morning trying to find somebody that has done this. I took a look at the website of the system I have (avistart). Much to my surprize, I found that their latest version of the avistart (4000 series) has a turbo timer built in.

You can take a look at it here:

I will contact the audio shop that installed my remote start when they open and find out the cost to upgrade to the 4000 or the possibilities of modifying my system to incorporate the turbo timer.

If there are any electronics gurus out there that can send me in the right direction, your advice will be greatly appreciated.

I just went down and talked to the guys at the audio shop at lunch. They said that they would upgrade me to the new system with the timer function built in for $50. I went ahead and set up an appointment to get it done.

The remote start system senses the "wait to start" light before it will turn the motor over.

I had the system installed in the winter and when the audio shop demo'd it when I picked it up, it started right away because the motor was already warm. The next morning I tried to use it and I thought it was not working because it waited for the light.
