I am in the process of finishing up installing remote start on my truck, but I am having trouble with the tach signal and would like to double check with you smart types.
The camshaft position sensor connector has a redundant locking feature consisting of a clip that must be pulled out from one side of the connector to unplug it in addition to the push release. The factory service manual pinout shows the outside wire on the locking mechanism pull-out side as being the signal (the others being power and ground). The wire color coding information from the service manual does not match what is on the truck, however, and wire color coding from outside sources is inconclusive.
I connected to the wire the connector pinout suggests, but it is definitely not working. Is this the wrong wire? If it is the right wire, I will assume a bad connection.
Thanks,
