2nd Gen Non-Engine/Transmission suspension

My wonderful wife remembered me mentioning wanting a turbo timer a while back, and just got me an alarm that has remote start and turbo timer for my b-day.

Well my truck is in the shop right now (body damage) but when I get it back I would like the install to go smoothly. So toward that end I have a few questions.

The instructions are vague at best.

Does anybody know about these things?

It's a Compustar CM3000 by Firstech.

In the main wiring harness of the alarm, where should I connect the “ignition”, “parking light”, “accessory”, and “starter”.

Also, I can figure all the sensors except, where the “engine” should go.

And last, how do I hook to the electric door locks? Is that what the second relay in the alarms main wiring harness is for? I don't have the ability to unlock them remotely now. Just the switch on the inside.

thanks for any help,

Ben

I will follow this thread closely, I bought me a remote start, turbo timer, remote doorlock too! I will have to look to see the brand, but with mine I had the option for only a few more bucks to get some relays and plugs that simplify installation (but I have not had the chance to install it yet). The advantage of the "extras" is that you can pretty much just "plug in" the added stuff as opposed to slicing into wiring harnesses.

Did it come with the detailed wiring manual. if not here is a link. if you are asking which wires on the truck your gonna have to have someone with a factor manual / wiring diagram tell you which wires are for what. I got one for my 96 but don't think it will be good for the 98. 5 I would highly recomen purchasing one if you dont have it

you are right about the FSM i like to have them, but havent found the funding lately

thanks for any input

I got my truck back and can now install this, but still have the questions??

please?:)

The turbo timer I have is from BD and though it does not have remote start and some of the other fancy electronics the wiring was simple. The ignition and and power-up wiring and ground were located just behind the steering column panel below the wheel. There was a big plug there and my directions stated to tap into the factory harness there. I procrastinated big-time before I installed mine and after I completed it,I wished I had done it sooner.

Not sure if I'm helping or not ... . as I understand that you and I have two different boxes... . but I'm assuming that the wiring to make yours and mine work will be about the same.
