I’m having problems with intermittent function of my remote door locks. There are periods when both fobs fail to activate the locks. I’ve replaced the batteries but they still usually fail to work, either to lock or unlock. I hate the alarm sounding when I have to unlock with the key in the door.
Can anyone suggest how to start troubleshooting?

Yes, me too. 2004.5. I jokingly say it will un lock the doors anywhere from 1 to 20 times of pressing the FOB. Just living with it for now. Re: the alarm,, I'm never sure how to get it to turn off. One time I just drove it out of the campground to be less annoying until i could figure out how to get it to stop. If anyone has an answer, I'd like ot know too.

Same here, I got used to push the unlock button always twice. Doin so I never had the problem again.

But, mine always opens the door, it never failed on this, it is just the alarm that's not always disarmed.

If the doors refuse to open I would have a close look to the doors wire harness.

So far, the alarm stops when I insert and turn on the ign. key. When it doesn't work, it doesn't matter how many time I press the button. Then it will work fine a time or 2. I will be home from my road trip tomorrow and will test it out with all 4 or my programmed keys to see if that makes any difference. The manual electric lock switch locks and unlocks the doors OK, it's just the remote lock/unlock that doesn't.

Does anyone have a suggestion on how to keep the alarm from setting when the inside door lock switch is activated? Wire bypass? Fuse pulled?

Just trying to keep the horn from blowing if I have to unlock using the key.

Set the horns to Ignition-On.
Only thing you need is a relay in the wire between IPM and the Horns.

Disable the Alarm is impossible once activated at the factory.

Using my FSM wiring guide, I found that it was easier to reach and tap into the horn grounds to install the relay. I installed a hidden switch to activate the relay and silence the horns while unlocking with the key. Once I turn on the ignition, I can switch the relay off and everything returns to normal operation. It does just what I wanted it to do.

Excellent, sure the problem still exists but now you can use it until you figure it out.
