Engine/Transmission (1998.5 - 2002) Removal Dash Trim

HEY GUYS NEED SOME HELP GOING TO INSTALL FUEL PRESSURE GAUGE IN DASH WHERE SUN GLASSES GO ETC 99 2500 CUMMINGS QUESTION DOES THE TRIM AROUND THE RADIO / SPEED ODOMETER ETC SNAP IN PLACE OR DOES IT HAVE SCREWS SOME WHERE DON'T WANT TO BREAK IT THANKS QUESTION # 2 SENDING UNIT THAT GOES ON TOP OF FUEL FILTER STANDING IN FRONT OF TRUCK WHICH HOLE DOES IT GO TO THE LEFT OR RIGHT PLUS A ELBOW CAME WITH IT DO I NEED TO USE IT OR JUST SCREW IT IN STRAIGHT UP THANKS . PLUS POWER SUPPLY CAN I TAP IN TO CIGARETTE LIGHTER POWER THANKS

The trim just pops on. There are about 12 spring clips that hold it in place. Pry a little at a time slowly and you shouldn't have any trouble. As for the fuel gauge... . I have a 2001 so I'm of little help with that part.

On the '98 I had there was one screw to be removed around the cubby hole, air bag disable area, I don't know about the '99. My 2001 does not have a screw, it just pulls off and snaps back on, nothing to break. Don't know about the sending unit, I tapped into the schrader valve before my fuel filter, and the cigar lighter power is good.

mine is a 99 and it just pulls off, no screws to worry about. Like was stated earlier go slow but you will probably have to use a bit of force, mine is tough to get off. The other note of caution I would put out is to be careful snapping it back on afterward, I cracked the clear plastic bezel over the gauges by being too hard pushing the trim back on after I was done putting in my new stereo. Go slow and it is a very simple job.
