Remove tow mirror glass

I'm getting some paint touch up done on my truck and would like to paint the towing mirrors. It would be a lot easier if I could remove the glass. Is there an easy way to accomplish this?

Yes, there are very easy to remove. There is a video that shows how to remove. Do a search.

If you push the mirror back so you can look behind the glass on the bottom, you will see two spring steel loops that you can release with a needle nose. Once that spring clamp is free, the mirror will come out. Unplug for the heater, etc. and you are there.

Well it turns out my mirrors are built differently from those in that video. I have a spring loaded wire going around them and the two ends of it come together on one side. I was able to get them off but I'm not sure how to get them back on. I suspect it's easy, just have to figure out the method - without dropping them..
