I have the old Cather software (Like Smarty) in my ECM. I want to put my ECM back to stock, can the dealer override the programming? I tried to borrow the Smarty from Bob Wagner to do this, but no luck so far...

Anyone know what the dealer will charge to do this?

Thanks,

Derek

Derek,

With your ECM installed in the truck, anyone with a Chrysler DRBIII Scan Tool (dealer or otherwise) can reflash back stock whatever software is in your ECM. You'd have to call around to dealers to see what they charge... probably isn't too expensive because it couldn't take more than an hour of their time.

Maybe someone with a DRBIII here on the TDR forum and within driving distance of you might offer to let you drop by for a reflash? Anyone?

Alternatively, you could remove the ECM from the truck and ship it to a ECM rebuild shop which could easily reflash it for you. Someplace like Auto Computer Exchange should be easy to work with. Just call them and explain your problem... that you only need a reflash of your unit and don't want to do an exchange.

Good luck,

John L.
