i just had mine out no special tool needed. grab boot close to bottom closest to the seat and pull up. when reinstalling boot make sure you put the front in first.
Do you want to remove the console, or just the boot?
The boot is attached to the cup holder. Do you have the 4X4?, manual or elec shift T-case?.
I have had to reseal my shift tower twice, so I am pretty much upon it.
The upper boot comes up with the cup holder,then a 19M wrench is required to loosen the shifter. The tool you mentioned is to remove the upper boot from the cup holder only.
P. S I have the 56 Honey, if you are referencing the G56 then
