Has anyone removed chrome rocker panels from their truck? I want to remove mine to see what I may be hiding behind them since I have a Michigan truck. Plus I am going with black accessories instead of chrome. So all the chrome comes off. Is taking them off similar to taking the black plastic off the tailgate? For those of you that have taken off the tailgate protector, should I wait until it is hot outside, or does it matter.

Thanks

Go to the local autobody supply store and get a couple rubber adhesive removal wheels. They go in your electric drill and make the job a lot easier. Then spray the panels with some 3M or PB adhesive remover, wipe it off and you should be good to go.

interested also... . I had a set put on in December... . they are pealing off the truck in several places so I will eventually remove them and get another set this summer..... but I will pay more to have the guy who actually sells them install them RIGHT! :{ :(

Rocker Panel Removal

I have removed a few sets and heating them up helped out, do you have the stainless rockers or the plastic stuff? The stainlees ones are a bear to get off where the are stuck down good, it will peel some paint off of your truck to upon removal, some of the pieces we ended up getiing the corner peeled back and clamping a vise grip onto the rocker molding and pulling on that, no matter it just plain sucks removing the stuff.
