Can the clutch master cylinder actuating rod be removed from the master cylinder without removing the master cylinder from the truck? My clutch is hooking up right at the top of the pedal travel and I am thinking of shortening the rod a bit to move engagment closer to the floor. This has been the same with 2 different clutches.

TIA

John

its clipped in the master cylinder. The rod is cast alumnium you will need to figure out a way to get it shortened and still be strong. good luck. you might also break the clutch switch, just hook the wires together and it will start no matter where the pedal is, and it wont affect the cruiz control.

Can a new rod be made with steel? Any oddball ends on it? The pedal end is easy but whats the other end look like? I dont care about the stupid safety switch, its already bypassed.

I never pulled it out of the cylinder. That was a year and a half ago, I bet 8its pretty deep in the land fill by now. Just take it out of your truck and look at it, it aint that hard to remove.
