I did the brakes once before now I can't get the pads out on 2001. 5 a year later HELP! I took out the caliper and I am starring at it. The Hanyes manual said remove the clips do you bend them?
No, the clips are fixed to the pads, pry one end of the outer pad loose with a screwdriver between end of pad and caliper then rotate it out. INner shoe has clip inside piston, tilt it out at top and remove. bg
Thanks for the help that's what I did last time it just snuck out. I am brain dead today I just pulled it off the jack stands before I burned it. and have to go for a ride now.
the springs are not fixed on a 3500 '01 disc brake pad...
at the bottom where the pad backing plates are, there is a pressure spring . . looks like a wide tin object. . be easy and don't break them !!. . just push them down a bit [easy here] and release the pressure on the pad backing plates and they will slide out top bottom top bottom slidding action a bit at a time will get ya done
