removing injectors without special tools

Has anyone removed injectors and connector tubes without the special pullers?? I need to pull mine and wondered if its smart to do or just buy the tools. The tubes worry me more than getting the injectors out... .

I've never done the injector thing, I'll be watching this thread. I did 'save' a post that talks about replacing injectors and it says although special tools are not needed, it's 'probably a good idea'( considering the cost of injectors), it's here-

No problem, I use a small angled pry-bar to carefully lift on the injector while at the same time pulling with my other hand, if the nozzels aren't too carboned up you can pull 'em by hand. The crossover tubes come out by hand, as with the injectors just be carefull not to ding them or drop them.

Make sure you follow torque specs when you reinstall. One other item, clean out the hole that the nozzel goes through into the cylinder or the injector can be a pain to reseat.

Injectors

I have a 05, when I tried to pull injector tube on #1, it would not come

out. I put cover back on an ordered a snap on tube puller $17. 25 shipped.

The next time I tried with tube puller I had to use force to get out.

I had same problem with injector. I had to use force to get out. I had same

problem getting back in. The injector would not go in, I used a 24mm deep

socket to tap in, same with tube I had to tap in. The next five, I had no

problem.

You don't need special tools to pull injectors on a cr. After loosening the connector tube nut thread the injector line nut back on a few turns and pry between the two nuts with a screw driver to loosen the tube. You may want to remove the lower rocker box and get it out of the way. I like to apply a little oil to the O-rings before installing the new injectors and tubes. It makes them slip back in easier.
