I have the Fox shock set up that I purchased from Thuren (some time ago) just sitting in my garage. The other day I actually had about an hour or so and tried to remove the old shock.

Q: How do you get the old one out?! I can loosed the nuts and remove them , but the bolt that holds the shock in place to the steering stabilizer bar (I think its called) seems press-fit in. Do I need to wait until it gets colder outside and then heat up the bar to loosen it?

Thanks!

The bolt is a taper fit, if you can get a good solid (heavy) piece of metal (sledge hammer head) on one side of the steering rod where the bolt goes through then hit the opposit side with a medium sized ball pein hammer it should pop out. Leave the nut screwed on loosely so if you hit the threads they won't be destroyed in case it doesn't come out. I would be hesitant to heat the rod for fear of loseing temper?? bg
