2nd Gen Non-Engine/Transmission Tire Size Question

Trying to remove the power steering pump from my 1999 2wd Cummins turbo diesel 5.9
I have removed all bolts and hoses. The pump is still tight and will not budge. I have tried to "lightly" pry the pump off...it will not budge. I've read recommendations to remove both the power steering pump and vacuum
pump as one unit. I would rather not remove both pumps. Any suggestions on removing the power steering pump only??
Thank you!

You should remove them together. It’s almost impossible to reassemble them without at least damaging the seal between them, which means you’ll have to do it again, this time removing both.

Why you do not want to remove them as a unit is a mystery to me. I tried removing only the PS unit method once then listened to the experts. It is faster and easier to remove them as a unit.

PS. As a precaution I advise you to remove the oil pressure sensor first. They get in the way and are easily broken.

I tried to remove just the ps pump. It was a stupid idea. Mine would NEVER slide back enough to get it out due to the block casting. I wasted hours, and ruined the shaft seal.
DON'T buy the "Genuine Cummins" seals sold on Amazon! They are fake crap. They fit like crap ans leaked everywhere. Purchase the one from Geno's Garage, which I had also done years ago, and it worked.

My experience working with Geno's since mid 2001 is they vet what they consider offering before selling, provide great customer service and have no problem shipping out replacement items if damaged shipping. Highly recommended
