As a new member, I would like some information as to how I go about removing the silencer ring and if i do remove it can i replace it at a later date. Also, approximately how much louder does the turbo get.
Locate your turbo, in the front of the turbo 4 or 5 inch big hose that goes to air box , loosen the clamp, and slide the hose back. You will see the turbine blades, in front is the silencer ring with a snap ring holdling it in. Take two small flat blade screw drivers and work one under the snap ring to pry it up slightly, and the other screw driver to pop it out (be careful not to slip and hit the blades). Reconnect the hose and your done. With a stock air filter it will be a little more noticeable unloaded. Have not tried it yet with a load. If you don't like it reverse the procedure. Takes about 30 minutes to do it.
