Has anyone had luck with removing and installing a new glass in the outside mirror housing on a 2000 style non tow mirror? Since Geno's sells replacement glass, how hard is it to replace? What holds the glass in place? OR should I just install a complete mirror assembly which I have had in storage for going on 3 years now?

On the motor assembly is a disk about 4" in diameter and on the mirror backing plate is a ring of fingers that clip onto the disk. I made a little L shaped tool that let me pull back the fingers one at a time. Once a few are loose it comes off easily. You can move the mirror by hand to one extreme position to see behind the mirror. The picture at Geno's sort of shows the back.
