I have a 1995 3500 2wd. I thinking about a set of compound turbos that needs the cooler lines removed. The most I will be towing is 3,000lbs. I have searched TDR about this and found that some folks think it would be a mistake to remove the stock setup, yet others have and it sounded sucessful.

I would run the stock cooler in front of the radiator and a fan cooled plate cooler that is rated at 26,500 GVW with a fan thermostat.

Does anyone have any advice on this?

Thanks

Keep it... you can move it and mount it behind the bumper. The heat exchanger will warm the fluid in the cold weather and then cool it in the warm weather making the cooler by the radiator that much more efficient.

I agree keep it I putting twins on and moving it behind the front bumper also. I talked with DTT and they said it gets rid of more heat than aftermarket ones. I pulled a 3000lbs trailer this winter in Alaska and had a 160 degree temp.
