Removing Wax

Hello all.



Does anyone know how to remove paste wax from rubber/plastic molding?



Somebody help me before I get out the sander...

People will laugh and chime in, but it's peanut butter. Do a search and you will find that there are other ways to get the wax off as well.

If the kids won't give up the PB or you have visions of the neighbors dog licking your door handles, try "Black Chrome" by Turtle Wax. It can be hard to find, but it works great. I use it on the door handles, mirrors, bumper caps, and black painted metal like windshield wiper arms and roof racks. It'll also make your hitch receiver positively shine.



Since your waxing, wanna do mine? I bought the wax, but still haven't worked myself up to actually applying it

Never heard of the stuff, great idea! I am sick of the neighbor's dog licking my handles and humping the tires!

Black shoe polish works also! I use a tooth brush to apply it, then wipe it down with paper towels.

Based on what I was able to find on the internet, Black Chrome has been discontinued.



I'll look for it in my local APS, though.



The peanut-butter remedy sounds intriguing, but I think I'll save that for a last resort.



Anyone else? Please? I've got a whole pack of 80-grit disks...

Geezus, David. Last resort?



Peanutbutter on a toothbrush. Hardly have to even scrub. Wipe off with wet rag and wipe on your protectant of choice.

How many times do we have to tell you Peanut Butter It works. About as simple as you can get. Peanut Butter on a tooth brush and its gone.
