What do you aviation buffs think about the kabosh at Reno? Been wanting to attend for over 40 years, I finally retired, able to go and this happened. Would the last hoorah be worth it?

I say to go since you have been wanting to attend! Don't waste the opportunity since you're now retired! You put in the time to be able to enjoy the final years. You seem to have the truck for the drive, get the trailer packed and the diesel turning!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
