Finally decided to try to stop the fuel seeping out of the CP3 pump. While working on it, I took some pictures and later took time to do a write-up as to what I did. This may not cure all of them, nor fix every one, but if yours it doing it, this may help you to get it fixed without removing the entire pump. Good luck!

Thanks, guys. That's what I love about being a TDR member. Meeting great folks, and helping if possible, sharing information when we learn things.

Gtobey, do you happen to know what the part number is for the seal inside the pump that you changed out? I found the oring part number but no luck on the seal......my local Bosch dealer won't sell me the complete DGK603 kit but they will try and sell me the individual parts if I can get them numbers.

Hey, Don, I will be happy to look it up tomorrow and get back to you. I have the part numbers at work. Why won't the Bosch dealer sell you a gasket kit? That's very odd. I can help you get one if you wish, and I'll get the number for the seal in the morning. Take good care...

I think that here in Alaska certain dealerships like to play with "the captive audience" so to speak. It's almost like they haven't heard of the Internet yet. I called Oregon Fuel injection (very helpful folks with a good inventory) and they were happy to sell me a gasket kit. The guys here in Alaska simply want the big money for a new CP3 even though I don't need it.

Need to know which pump you have. Gasket set may be different!

Don, what year is your truck, the 2014? If so, then you have a different CP3 pump than the one that is on 2003-2007 models with the 5.9L like mine. I have Bosch pump 0 445 020 147. From 2007-2014 with the 6.7L, the pump is Bosch 0 445 020 146. There is a difference in the green gear pump oring.

The green o-ring that I used on my pump that has two small o-rings molded to the center big o-ring. Your pump uses actually 3 rings, one big, and two small individual ones. Much to my dismay, in looking at the exploded parts breakdown of both pump numbers, the gear pump seal is not shown as an individual part. I thought for sure that it was, but it is not listed in the parts breakdown separately. Bosch's literature does say that the kits include the pump mounting gaskets, overflow valve o-ring, MPROP (FCA) O-rings, gear pump o-ring(s) and gear pump oil seal.

So, I go through all of this to say that if you have a 6.7L, 2007-2014, your gasket set is DGK604 and not the DGK603 as I had to use. Thanks.

It's for my 2005 Jeep Liberty 2.8 liter VM Diesel. And no, I can't seem to get the the seal.....without buying the whole kit. That's ok though, it's still better than a new pump!

1000s of CP3 have been tested on My bench, I cannot remember last 1 that leak here, By removing the GP you should inspect the wear on the eccentric shaft, if excessive the pump will need to be removed and the shaft replace. There is some risk removing the GP W/O the ability too line up the Key's inside the GP,( this can only be done by rotating the shaft, many owners have purchase add-ons only to snap their shaft. The front seals are the big problem, also the Polygon front and rear bushing ETC, generally any CP3 should be freshen up at 250-275K if done its a 1 million Mile Pump. its you truck-Pump do as you wish.

Don't kid yourself the internals on any HPCP live a harsh and demanding live, with regular maintenance and proper care they will provide decades and 10,000.00 Hrs of service.

Thanks, Don. I like those Jeeps. Hope yours has been good. I haven't seen one of those CP3s off of the Jeep yet here, so I hope that the kit will fit the same. I don't know that at this point. If you got the pump numbers off of the tag, I'll get it looked up and see if the same kit will fit it. Good luck!
