Hey guys it's time to buy a manual for my 98. Is there a better manual available than the Chiltons or Haynes. They cover such a wide range I'm afraid of limited info on the Cummins powered trucks. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.
I just bought a factory service manual from Genos garage. I would say it is going to be the best manual you can buy. Not cheap though. Shipping and all was right at 98 bucks. The manual is great though.
Minor caveat: I, personally, have not looked at the CD copies on eBay.
Guys, I strongly suspect that these are *NOT* legal copies, but copies burned from the original D/C shop manuals. While you may like the price compared to what Geno's or TechAuthority gets for them, it'll be a legit copy.
Having said that, I doubt that D/C will be able to come you if you do purchase one of them.
Caveat emptor.
I've got a CD on order from Geno's. If it's anything like the manuals for my Jeep Cherokee (moderately modified,) the Chiltons and Haynes manuals would more properly be used for bumwipe than good data. There's quite a few instances of just plain wrong data including torqure values that are far too high. Get the real thing.
