I was the Service Writer at a repair shop that specialized in diesel pickup repairs about 10 years ago. Our Ford man was the best I've ever seen. He could have the cab off of one in less than 1.5 hours.

One time when he had the cab off of one, I figured I'd mess with him a little. He would lay all his fasteners and parts he removed on a table. I took an oddball bolt and laid it on the table with the others. When he was finishing up putting the cab back on, I went to him and pointed out he had a bolt left over. He calmly and confidently told me that bolt didn't come from that truck, that someone was trying to mess with him.

It’s actually a pleasure once you get to that point. So long as the caged nuts for the cab bolts don’t spin and all that jazz, it’s an okay job. BTW it’s the same deal on the 6,0 Econolines too.

I changed a water pump on one years ago. I think I am still missing skin off of my knuckles from that one.
