Engine/Transmission (1998.5 - 2002) replace 02 6 spd w/ auto???

Trying a new post cause the search function returns no results no matter what I type in.....



I know some have done it, (yes it seems wrong, but hear my plan out), but what would be the best way?



01 or 02 auto with its matching pcm?



earlier (i. e. 94-98) auto, how do I control it?



I am just looking for technical data n-stuff, to see if this is doable.



This is not an immediate plan for me, but if this swap is reasonable enough, the 6 speed would be going into a F-600 project truck. Also, if anyone has any info on running a 12v motor in front of a 24v 6 spd in a 1965 ford, I am gathering info. :-laf

I haven't personally done one of those swaps, but if you didn't already have plans for the 6-speed I would have been happy to offer a trade for the auto in my truck, then we could swap hardware and electronics all at once.

Check with member TJSHOTROD. He did that swap through J&H Diesel in Redding, CA. He was doing a lot of drag racing and pulling, so the auto worked better.
