replace 98 mirrors with '00

Do you guys know if I can take out my 98 mirrors (round type) and replace them with the square ones that came out in 00? I'm not talking about the mirrors that can be extended, just the ones that come stock on the new trucks.

Huh?? The black "mickey mouse ears" power/heated mirrors that are on your '98 are the exact same thing that comes standard on the '00. The only 'square' mirrors that were optional,are the fold out mirrors,but they are not power or heated.

Are you confusing the fold outs with Power Visions (the ones that have motors to extend them)?

I have a 98, and I replaced them with the 01 Trailor towing mirrors. They bolt right in, but you loose heat and electric. If you want the towing mirrors, you need to get in line since they are on national backorder. The dealer here in Austin sells them at $220. 00 for the complete kit

MikeR- I thought my old mouse ear mirrors were now obsolete. Bummer that those fold outs aren't heated or powered.



the other mirrors I've seen that I don't want are the ones that retract. They look like rectangles put on their side with the support from the truck attaching @ the bottom of the mirror.



I think I'll stick with the ones I've got b/c it snows and ices where I am.

I'm currently waiting for one of those nationally backordered towing mirrors (right side). The one on my new truck just flopped around so I have to use some silicon to fix it in place till I can get it replaced.



Other than that, I really like them.
