Engine/Transmission (1994 - 1998) Replace Auto transmission with standard 4500

I blew the transmission in my 96 3500 and is it time to think about doing a conversion to standard. I pull a 35 ft. fiver at 12000 #, Is it worth while ? and more important can it be done?

Yes, but I would use a nv5600. If towing is the the goal I believe the standard is best for my use. If you use the truck to race or snow plow a automatic is probably the way to go. JimK
