Rip and Don EDM's----Wow!

Finally more air, HX40 is in !!

I had to install a FASS system on my p-pump conversion. I installed a PDR 12valve grind cam in it and now I have a lobe to drive a mechanical lift pump. Are the standard lift pumps reliable and do they supply a steady pressure for the p7100 on a motor with 450 hp. Are there good pumps and not so good or is the stock Cummins one fine.

Sell the FASS... go mechanical original. It should be able to deliver plenty of fuel for that power level. If it will do 40 GPH... thats a heck of a lot of fuel to burn for only 400 HP or so.

Anyone know the stock GPH of the cam pumps? You might have to regulate too. I thought I saw where they were over 30 psi. Some found it hard to find a gauge to get into the range without going to a 100 psi unit.

Is there a certain year or model I should look for? I just called Cummins and they won't look it up unless I give them the number off my engine tag. Since it's a 2002 I don't think that number would do him much good.

You might want to give Lenny a call at Dyno-Nite Diesel Performance. His number is: (360) 794-7974. He should be able to help you out.

I may just wait on this one. It looks like it is going to cost 2/3 as much to install the mechanical as the FASS. The pump is around $200 and the remote filter is around $100. The FASS works fine, I just don't like electric pumps. I think I'll wait untill I'm done with the motor before I change.

Westach WM-FPKT-30 guages read up to 30 psi. Or relabel a boost guage that reads 35 psi. Genos has 'em.

I'll probably sell or trade it. I need new guages and maybe a stronger clutch for the twins. I'll sell the FASS the 35/40 hybrid and the con ofe and that will about wipe out my spare stuff.

As far as reliability the mechanical pumps are fair. I got 436k on one and carried a spare around for about 300k. ;)

Water pump lasted just as long. Finally changed them out when I put in a new motor.
