I'm going to be swapping out the valve body w/ a performance one in my stupid 47RE and was wondering whether or not it is recommended to install new solenoids while I'm at it. Any other stuff that I should replace while doing the v/b? Thanks.
The VB should come with a new solenoids and transducers. If not complain loudly.![]()
Normally it would (so far as I know) but I'm getting it out of a 48RE.
Are any in particular recommended or should I just get Mopar?
Dunno what the trans shop will charge for the parts, but From dodge both will set you back around $200. I just had to replace mine and the Solenoid was around $120, and transducer was another $60.

Solenoid $59, transducer $37 at the local supplier.
While your at it, get a Sonnax manual valve and pressure relief valve to upgrade the factory parts. Fluid flow in park, better pressure control also.![]()
Would the local transmission shop have a Sonnax manual valve and pressure relief valve you think? Anything else to do while I'm in there?
Thanks again.
Holy cow.
OK, so you're suggesting that when I install the new performance v/b to also install/replace:
Solenoids
Transducer
Sonnax manual valve and pressure relief valve
Transgo **** kit
Any of this stuff real hard to do? I've worked on cars/trucks at my old man's shop for years but autos have always befuddled me so have been something I send to a transmission shop.
Oops. I meant shift kit not **** kit.

You said you were getting one from a 48RE, I assumed used one. Since you were asking about replacing parts I once again assumed used. Right? or ??Who/where are you getting the VB from?
If it is a performance VB it SHOULD have all the previously referenced pieces, but, I would specifically ask just to make sure they are doing the things that need to be done.
Whoa now GRoutzahn let's keep it clean :-laf
