Has anybody attempted to replace the pump wires that were pierced/soldered to use a fueling box?? Can this be done?? I have a pump going bad that SHOULD be covered under warranty, but since the wire had been pierced, well, you know.
I don't think you can. You might try telling them the whole story and see what happens. It worked for me. You may want to have around $2K handy in case it doesn't.
Heck I had to replace the wire on my pump just last week. The dang thing fell apart in my hands.
I just soldered in a good peace of 16 gauge fuel and heat resistant wire and then soldered a wire with a connector onto that. Used heat shrink tubing and some electrical tape and a little Di eletrical grease on the connections and it looks real nice. Now I have a quick change capability on my fueling boxes. I can switch back and forth between the PM3 Comp and the Edge Drag Comp in just a few minutes and don't have to worry about no crappy scotch lock connector.
By the way I totally agree "you play you pay" don't try and pull one over on the dealer. Just walking in and bend over and take it like a man for the new pump.
