replaced MAP, still got problems UPDATE INFO

Replaced the MAP and still got no power, boost or smoke.

Truck runs and idles smooth but has very low power.

I cleared the codes, but they came back as soon as I started it. The codes are p0237 and p1693. Where do I look now, could it be the apps or injector pump? It first started a few mornings ago when it was about 32 degrees, ran fine that after noon after truck warmed up, but has run bad ever since. Anyone got any ideas? Thanks.

Update:

Heres the latest, read up on all the related tdr posts I could find (about 2hrs reading according to the wife), disconnected the batteries (yea I forgot to do this the first time), cleaned all the ground wire conncections I could find, used diaelectric grease everywhere including the MAP sensor and inj. pump plugs, , reconnected the batteries, re-calibrated the APPS per the TDR posts, started truck and went for a ride. YEEEEEhAAAAAAAw. Man did it run good, lots of smoke from the stage 3 injectors, and boost up around 28 lbs. Did not have the boost fooler hooked up, so knew I would have a code for overboost, but what the heck. Got home hooked up the hypertech to see and clear the codes, still had the p0237 and p1693 along with the overboost. Cleared them, and thought what the heck lets hook back up the boost fooler to the MAP. (maybe not such a good ideal I think now), went for a ride, NO POWER, smoke, or boost!!!!! Think to myself, boy was that stupid. Un-hook boost fooler, still ran like crap. Go home disconnect batteries for a hour, hook them back up, reset APPS agian, go for a ride and truck RUNS GREAT AGAIN!!!! Still have engine codes. Leave better nuff alone for time being and decide to see how it runs this morning going to work. Cranked up this morning, had my doubts, but truck ran great all the way to work. I am not sure if there is some other problem or not, but the check engine light is still on. I may go and have it scanned by a perf. diesel shop I know of in ft Worth when I can get to it this week. If it doesn't crap out before that.

The TDR is Great!

More info always welcome

Sure, any info can't hurt. I still suspect something else, like the apps, but hate to replace it yet.

I have measured 7 APPS brand new out of the box and the circuit of the off- idle validation on ALL MEASURED BETWEEN 2,546 OHMS AND 3. 65 MILLION OHMS THIS IS alot higher than the specified <125 ohms. It is interesting to note that the great difference of the new APPS same circuit. So as far as I understand the ECM can't see the change of state of the pedal so fuels at a rate of idle until the ECM sees a boost presure (this for me is up in 4 th gear when it still struggles to accelerate) from the MAPS and increases the fueling rate but not at the rate that we should be seeing . :{ this leads to less than optimum performance and other problems. This is the reason that I think mine is a gutless wonder for it makes sence to me. cummins bulletin No. 3666480 is where I gleen this info from. The teckies thought it would be a good idea to put an other ground to the system even though the resistance was 300 mill ohms this is pathetic thinking for it changed nothing and was a complete was of my money for the resistance was well under that allowed.

Latest Update

So far so good! Truck is still running great (knock on wood), the check engine light also turned itself off. I am going to hook up the Van Akin CPC again this weekend and see what happens, minus the practical solutions boost module I was using.

Whats the info on the APPS? I've been getting the P0122 Code which is under voltage code. Is my APPS bad?

... . have you thought of callin Gordon (Practical solutions) and asking him if he has had other users experiencing the same problems? He is a pretty knowledgable guy. ;)

I guess I should, I have had it for years. I will try the boost fooler part of the VA first and see if it does the same thing.

Latest Update

Well, I hooked up the VA with its boost fooler, and the truck went back into the low boost low power mode. I tried several combinations, clearing codes and disconnecting the batteries each time, and resetting apps each time also, but could never get the truck to run right with the va or boost fooler or both plugged in. However, the truck did run good when I used the hypertech programmer level three by itself. I am not sure what this means other than I still think the apps is somehow involved. I just don't see how two different boost foolers could have suddenly gone bad. Anyway, those stage 3 injectors are a good increase over stock by thierselves!
