This is the next bomb on my list, and I've gone through some research already. Here's my plan: Alcan out of Grand Junction makes custom springs. I can get a 7 or 8 leaf progressive leaf still rated for the 3/4 ton. 6" over to eliminate the blocks. Less $ than any of the lift kit springs I've found, which aren't rated to the same load anyway. They have a website, but give 'em a call also. They were nice guys to talk to. Let us know how it works out.

Do it!

One of the best BOMBs I've done to the truck was replacing the rear springs and getting rid of the rear blocks. Ride is much, much better and articulation is double what it used to be. I used Skyjacker kit for front and rear springs, but Alcan or National Spring would be just as good imo. I would recommend replacing the front springs also and go to a HD shock or twin shocks up front.

I'm fabbing up a spacer for the air bags for my cabover soon.

I have a set of Skyjacker 4. 5" rear leafs been sitting in the garage for a year since I made the custom four link for sled pulling, I will let them go really cheap but the shipping would kill ya.

BBD,

Are they the softride springs? Are they 4. 5" over stock height or are they 4. 5" to eliminate the factory lift block?

I know this is not really what you were asking for, but I thought I would throw it in.

KORE makes a progressive leaf pack that replaces the bottom leaf in your stock pack. It should add 1-2" lift. I know this does not solve getting rid of the blocks, but is another cheaper, viable option.

Ditto on Deaver springs. Awesome. I would prefer Deaver, Alcan, National or any of those brands over Skyjacker or something like that anyday.

I think the 4. 5" SJ's he is talking about are 4. 5 over stock height, which means you could remove your stock block and not gain much, if any, height.

I have the KORE mini packs, they work great. Kent at KORE was working on a replacement compleate rear spring pack, you might call and ask what he's found.

BTW my KORE mini packs have "Deaver" painted on them ;)

I've had the Alcan's on for a while now, and they're a huge improvement over the stockers. No more overload kickin' me in the butt. One thing to watch out for: The mounting distance at the frame on my truck was 2" shorter than what the book said. This caused my rear shackle to lean rearward instead of forward, which doesn't allow a high arched spring to flex enough. Onced I was smart enough to figure this out, I called Alcan, talked to them about the situation, and they sent shorter main leafs to me AT NO CHARGE! The moral is to measure the fixed mounting points before you order your springs, saving quite a bit of work laying on your back. Its a good double check so you're sure to get what you want.

The quality and construction of Alcan's springs were perfect, the price was unbeatable, and they're good people to deal with. And its worth getting rid of the lift blocks.

I had custom 8 inch over springs done at Atlas in So California. They did a sweeeeet job. I posted pics in an ealier post. I had huge overloads added and the ride stayed the same. No more blocks=no more axle wrap! YAHHH
