Need a little help. Been doing some searching and have not found the correct answer. I have what I believe is a 1999 Ram 2500 Club Cab? Is the Club cab is the one with the suicide doors right?

Now the next question. Are all the front doors (Driver and Pass) on the Club Cabs and Standard Cab the same size? The Second gens didn't come in a Quad cab right? I am looking to order replacement doors or lower door skins for my truck as they are pretty bad shape and want to make sure I order the correct ones.

Thanks! :)

John

Clubcab has two doors. Quadcab has four - two are what you are calling suicide doors. Both were available in 99. 99 clubcabs are pretty rare.

You want skins, or lower panels, for a "Quad Cab" if you have the suicide (4 actual) doors. Note: Std Cab and (I think) Club Cab doors are rounded at the lower rear edge, Quad Cab doors are square as they meet/close with the front lower edge of the back (suicide) doors. If you are going to remove some sheet metal and reveal the inner door make sure all that metal is in good shape before installing the new skin/patch panels.

Please post where, and how much $ for, the parts you end up getting. My drivers door is rusty too.

I'm looking at lower skins (Have not seen full skins yet) But local auto body shop said they can get full skins or bottoms.

Seen some on other sites also ranging from $60 - $130. Local is saying $70 for the bottoms.

The door shells I've seen are at (Great price!) : My thinking was if the removal of lower skin turns out bad, (shell is rusted bad), order replacement door :)

But listed for standard Cab and have not seen anything for QC. Rockauto has them at same price :)

If it is door skins you are looking for, might be helpful to check some salvage yards. Probably you could get the whole door in good condition for about the same money, and save yourself some time in the long run. If you can get the same color, then it becomes bolt-on. Been there - done that. ;) Your salvage yard can cross check to verify if front doors will interchange.

I've been looking, but have not found any that are rust free in the good old rust belt. I found one Ram 2500 that someone traded in (cash for clunkers) (Gasser) and the doors where the same color and rust free! One door had a big dent in. I was there for a bumper and it was late in the afternoon so was only able to grab the bumper off it. I went back the following weekend to grab some other stuff and doors, but the truck was nowhere to be found! I have a feeling it was crushed :( Someone told me they could not keep the cash for clunkers more than a couple weeks :(

Interesting "geek" only list LH patch panels? Typically the RH would be the ones to go 1st? In contrast to that statement mine are rusting on the LH side "only"???? go figure?
