Started with low lift pump pressure.I have emptied and dropped tank and am replacing hoses. Have been provided with a hard, relatively inflexible nylon hose for return system. It has a snap on setting and I am supposed to be able to heat it in hot water to expand it enough to fit on the steel tube. It is not expanding enough to work. Question is: Do I need this substantial of a high pressure tube for this return line? Very frustrated. HEEELP!

Couple of things here....

Need to know what you have for a truck...

Need to post this in the sub forum that matches the generation of your truck, not a lot of people are going to notice it in this Website Suggestion Forum....

The tubing should go on a fitting when then connects to the fuel sending unit if I am following what you are doing....

Since it is the return line it will see very little if any real pressure. On my 01 I had rubber type hose from tank to vp44 for the supply and same for return. I don't remember which brand (Thinking it was Parker) I used but it was just diesel rated fuel line I don't even remember the pressure rating but it was well over 100psi and am thinking it was over 200psi. It was stout hose plenty of braid in it worked great with the aeroquip type fittings I used as well. It has been on there for well over 250k miles with no issues.
