I just replaced my 94 CTD w/ an 08 4500. Old faithful spent 14 yrs at 12,000 lbs pulling 15,000 lbs trailers. The only problems were the KDP and clutches w/3. 55 rears. The new truck is a 6sp manual, 4wd w/4. 10 rears. It weighs 11,750 w/all tools onboard. I'm very happy with it so far except for the speed limiter.

Nice rig. Please let the forum members know if you have any problems with the new truck.

My 3500 cab and chassis has just under 9,000 trouble free miles. No check engine lights, no reflashes, no issues at all.

Congratulations on your new truck. I see it's the same color and cab as your old truck. I did the same thing when I ordered my 05 dually. It's the same truck and the same color as my 95. I had such great luck with the old one that I got the new one the same. My neighbors didn't know I had bought a new truck.

Nice truck, she served the purpose and lived the life a Cummins engine should! They love to work... . What are you doin with the 94?

The 94 is going to be a doner truck. The tires and simulaters are going to a friend for his 97. The steering box is new so he's taking that. When I was taking out the air compresser I found a crack in the frame in front of the right rear wheel. The cab is all used up. The seat broke out of the floor, I welded patches in the doors to hold the mirrors, both fenders are rotted. The engine is going into storage as a spare. The trans is a year old and going to convert a 95 with an auto to a stick so it can turn a pto.

nice truck!. . my friend has a 5500 dump 4x4 auto. . he loves it. . i like them alot. Say on your old '94 are you interested in selling the rear sway bar?

thanks

Just updating. 25000 miles and NO problems. No codes, no trips to the dealer. 13. 5 mpg by computer. Regens at odd times though. 900 degrees at idle for exhaust temp seems a little weird especially I'm going light to light in the city. It is a Real truck and if you can use it don't be affraid to buy one.

That's good news. Glad it's working out for you. Do you miss the Old Faithful?

Sometimes I miss It. It pulled harder from 1100 to 1800. Grinding my own ramps, playing with AFC and injectors keep it interesting. Leaving Duramaxes in Black cloud was fun. But since NY has cracked down on diesel emissions I know I would have had to detune by now. New truck has AC, old faithful didn't. New truck doesn't have they front end problems and is much quieter.
