Researching the posts to change only the solenoid on an injector instead of replacing the injector. There appears to lots of success to only change the solenoid without then testing the injector.
I am trying to find any posts that have shown a bad outcome by only changing the solenoid. What problems did anyone have with over or under fueling ? Other problems if any also.

Input appreciated

Concrete info is going to be hard to find, very few people that change solenoids know or care about injector setup and the long term effects. If "I changed the solenoid and it runs fine" is good enough then you are good to go.

I can tell you there are 2 settings that will effect injector operation and durability to varying degrees when changing a solenoid. I can tell you mis-adjusted injector will burn a piston, and possibly take out bearings, at road speed BEFORE you even know there is an issue. Your choice to take chances on a $8-10k rebuild for a few $$ and a good injector.

Thanks for your input. I am going to a service facility that has the systems to test injectors and get an opinion from them. With only 68,000 miles on them I am hoping they can replace the solenoid and test injector out of the engine.

Be interesting to see if they will attempt a solenoid replacement or only sell a complete injector. A lot of places will not do work on the injector, other than testing, for warranty reasons.
